Coaching Sessions

Studying with me

The advantage of 1-to-1 learning is that sessions can be flexible. I adjust to the needs of each student and structure the sessions accordingly.

I usually start with a 20 minute intro call, in which we can get to know each other and discuss a plan. Then we would usually have a 2-hour first session to review a practice test and pick out some topics for initial study. I often work with students on a weekly basis, with homework tasks between our sessions. However, I’m able to have sessions more or less frequently, depending on the student’s needs.

I’m familiar with most of the GMAT and EA resources available, and often use Manhattan Prep and Target Test Prep to assist my students. The Official Guide and official practice tests are also invaluable.

I’m keen to make the sessions as collaborative as possible. One of the challenges of these tests is that they catch out students who follow rules blindly. Engagement and thinking under pressure are essential. Therefore, I usually orient my teaching around the idea of helping the student to find solutions that work for them.
